Real-time sync

The floor, reservations and guest updates broadcast live to every screen, so no one ever has to refresh to see the truth.

Updated Jul 23, 2026

TableStack is a live system. When one host seats a party, every other screen watching that venue sees it happen — no refresh, no stale floor. This article explains what stays in sync and what your venue needs for it to work.

What updates live

Three streams of changes broadcast the moment they happen:

  • The floor. Every table, seat and party status change — a party seated, a course advanced, a table cleared — appears on every open floor view instantly. Two hosts on two devices see one truth.
  • Reservations. Bookings created, changed or cancelled — including ones diners make on your booking page — flow straight into your reservation book.
  • Guest updates. Changes to a guest record propagate across your organization, so every venue in the group is working from the same profile.

The kitchen display rides the same live floor data, so the pass and the host stand never disagree about where a party is in their meal.

Why it matters

In a busy room, a floor plan that's even thirty seconds out of date is dangerous — you'll double-seat a table or miss a party that just got sat. Live sync means the picture on the screen is always the picture in the room. Your team can trust what they see and stop tapping "refresh".

What it needs to work

Real-time sync runs over a live connection between TableStack and each screen. In practice that means each device needs a working internet connection and an open TableStack page — the floor, reservations, or kitchen view. As long as a screen is online and on the page, it stays in sync automatically; there's nothing to configure per device.

If a screen briefly loses connection, it catches up when it reconnects — but for the live experience, keep your host-stand and kitchen devices on a reliable network.

What this affects

What affects this

  • Connectivity — each screen needs to be online.
  • Your team — everyone with floor access shares the same live view of their venue.
